Day 2 of the Tour of Britain takes the riders from Carlisle to Kendal, via The Lake District. They will ride into Ambleside and up the steep, narrow lane called The Struggle, to the top of Kirkstone Pass. This will take them a matter of yards away from How Head Barn!
‘Love Ambleside’ have arranged a big screen to be sited in the grounds of the University of Cumbria, right next to the main road along which the riders will enter Ambleside. Recorded coverage and interviews will be shown from 09.30hrs, with live coverage from 13.00hrs till the finish in Kendal at 16.00hrs.
Alternatively, there is the opportunity of sitting on the fell side at most points up The Struggle or even at the top of the pass. The only disadvantage is that the roads will be closed from early in the morning, so you will have to walk up!
