The accommodation is approached externally along the side of the barn, then up an internal stone spiral staircase to the house on the first floor. We host only one set of guests in the B&B at any one time, so you will not be disturbed and will receive our full attention!

The full size, double en-suite room has a king size bed with Egyptian cotton bed linen. There is a TV with integral dvd player, a Bose Wave radio/cd player, Krups Mini Espresso machine, tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities, hair dryer and free Wi-fi. The en-suite comprises a large walk-in shower enclosure with a rain shower head, wc, heated towel rail, wash hand basin and a back lit mirror with integral electric shaver point.

There are gorgeous views of the rising sun over Wansfell Pike and at night there is only the distant sound of the tumbling Stock Ghyll Beck. There is little or no passing traffic to disturb this peace!

Breakfast is taken in our own, otherwise private, south west facing lounge, also on the first floor. With it’s wood burning stove, there are magnificent views over the roof tops of Ambleside to Todd Crag and Loughrigg Fell – bring your binoculars to breakfast!

The breakfast menu is pre selected the night before and served at whatever time the guests require. There are proper vegetarian options and the whole breakfast is designed to set you up for a day out on the fells, whether you’re going out on them or not! The food is almost always sourced from Booths, the North West’s premier grocer.

On those wet weather days, outdoor gear can be hung in our small ground floor drying room/laundry. We also have a washing machine for you to use for a charge of £10 per load.

You can check in at any time after 16.00hrs on the day of arrival, but please before 20.00hrs. Daily housekeeping, if required, is included in the daily rate.

Guests have a key to the front door and can return at any time, but for those leaving us, rooms must be vacated promptly by 10.00hrs to allow for cleaning / changeover.
